The Liuyang Economic and Technological Development Zone (LETDZ) was founded in 1997 and approved by the State Council as a national economic and technological development zone in 2012.
After more than 20 years of development, LETDZ has become a 100-billion-yuan industrial zone with a development area of 37 square kilometers. An industrial pattern featuring three pillar industries—display function devices and electronic materials, biomedicine, and intelligent equipment manufacturing, and one characteristic industry—snack food, has taken shape. Meanwhile, seizing the opportunity of the national "carbon peak and carbon neutrality" strategy, its new materials and new energy industries have also gradually taken shape.
LETDZ has gathered more than 400 enterprises above designated size, including Lens Technology, Changsha HKC Optoelectronics Technology, Jiudian Pharmaceutical, Warrant Pharmaceutical, Fn-Link Technology Limited, Yuhuan CNC Machine Tool, HASCO Vision, Yingzhun Technology Co., Ltd., Rare Earth Co., Ltd., Yan Jin Shop, and Enoulite Food. Among them, there are 8 A-share listed enterprises, 7 enterprises listed on China's National Equities Exchange and Quotations (NEEQ), also known as the "new third board," and 31 reserve listed enterprises of Hunan resource pool. Up to now, LETDZ has 217 scientific research platforms at the municipal level or above, including 12 national-level, 121 provincial-level, and 84 municipal-level ones. It has built industrial support service platforms such as the Puruima Pharmaceutical Research Center, the Ecloud Testing, Irradiation Center, Ethylene Oxide Sterilization Center, and Medical Device Training Center, to provide strong support for industrial development.
It has been approved as National New-type Industrial Demonstration Base, National Industrial Transformation and Upgrading Demonstration Zone, National Foreign Trade Transformation and Upgrading Base, one of the national top 10 business environment industrial zone of 2024, and a provincial industrial zone with high-quality development. For years, LETDZ has been recognized as an excellent industrial zone in the "Five-good" industrial parks and zones comprehensive evaluation at both Hunan provincial and Changsha municipal levels. It is an industrial zone with the highest concentration of medical device enterprises in Hunan Province, and an important growth pole for Changsha's economic development.
The development zone, focusing on realizing the beautiful blueprint of "Three Hubs and Four New Missions" Strategy, aims at "breaking through 200-billion-yuan and advancing to the top 50 national development zones." It continues to strengthen the "Five-good" industrial parks and zones construction, and vigorously advance the initiatives of the "Year of Enhancing Investment Promotion Quality and Efficiency" and the "Year of Improving Industrial Zone Development Quality." It is building itself into a high-standard demonstration zone for a "new model of county-level economy and a pioneer zone for common prosperity," contributing greater strength to vigorously compose the Liuyang chapter of modernization with Chinese characteristics.
